Kindness in Schools
Towards a Philosophy of Permission to Teach
The Global Kindness Institute was founded to help businesses measure and operationalise kindness as a leadership strategic advantage. However, as our conversations have deepened, so too has our vision.
We’re now engaging with supporters, entrepreneurs, and public figures to explore how kindness might reshape education, starting with Gen Alpha and a simple yet radical idea:
What if teaching required permission?
Inspired by Denmark’s Klassens tid, we’re imagining a model where trust, safety, and relational readiness are prerequisites for learning.
It’s early days, but we’re asking:
- How might kindness become a core competency in schools?
- What rituals could help teachers earn and honour permission to teach (from the children they teach)?
- How do we move from policy and compliance to connection?
This isn’t a finished framework, it’s an open invitation.
If you believe kindness belongs at the heart of learning with our children, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re building a new team to help make this a reality.
